A Polish Pinot Noir from Lower Silesia, made by Nestor at Moderna, his 3.1-hectare vineyard near Wrocław. Nestor practises regenerative viticulture and takes a less-is-more approach to both grape growing and winemaking.
Ruby-coloured, light and juicy, with notes of strawberry, raspberry and cherry, complemented by clove, cedar and subtle oak. Fourteen months in used French oak add complexity while the tannins remain silky. Moderna’s labels feature modernist buildings of Wrocław, reflecting Nestor’s love of modernist architecture. Guess where the winery’s name comes from!
