About
I'm Karolina, a Pole living in Berlin. After years in the corporate world in several countries, I made a choice to settle in Berlin and do what I love for a living - sharing wine and pierogi with people.
Wine has been my passion for years, leading me to earn my WSET Level 3 qualification and to becoming a wine judge in international competitions. I remember the moment when I tried my first Polish wine. I had an epiphany. I knew that I wanted to combine my wine education with promoting wines from my home country.
Polish dumplings have a special place in my heart. To me pierogi is more than just food - it's a connection to my roots and a tribute to my grandma, who taught me the art of folding, filling, and enjoying these little pockets deliciousness. Making pierogi is my meditation, a way to bring a sense of peace and home to my meal.
And that's how I founded Grape & Grono - a business specialising in import and distribution of Polish wine as well as organising Polish culinary events. 'Grono' means a 'bunch' in Polish, just like in English, both a bunch of grapes and a bunch of people. Through this name, I wanted to convey exactly what Grape & Grono is about, the sense of people coming together to enjoy food and wine. Through this business, I want to show people is Germany and beyond that great wines and food are made in Poland.
Currently, Grape & Grono provides:
- Polish wines to both individual customers as well as gastronomy clients and wine bars;
- pierogi-making workshops;
- Polska & Pinot Dinner Series.
